If you’ve recently upgraded to Windows 11 but noticed that the Memory Integrity feature is grayed out or disabled. This feature is designed to protect your computer from malicious attacks by checking the integrity of your computer’s memory.

However, certain requirements must be met for it to work correctly. One of those requirements is having a compatible processor that supports virtualization-based security (VBS). If the device does not meet this requirement, the Memory Integrity feature will be grayed out and unavailable. It’s essential to note that enabling this feature can lead to better security and protect your device from various threats, so make sure to confirm your system compatibility before taking any action.

There is some reason to become a Memory integrity option greyed out.

As a Windows user, you may notice that the Memory Integrity option in the Windows Security settings is greyed out, making it impossible to access or enable it. This could be quite frustrating, especially if require this feature for added security.

The main reason why the Memory Integrity option appears greyed out is due to hardware incompatibility issues. This feature is only available for computers with compatible CPUs and enabled virtualization settings. If your computer CPU or motherboard is not compatible, the Memory Integrity option will be disabled automatically.

However, there are some steps you could take to determine if your computer is compatible and enable the Memory Integrity option.

1. Check driver error

  1. Go to the device manager by right click on the Windows start button.
  2. Now click on the view tab and select “Show Hidden Device”

3. You can check the driver list if the yellow mark with an exclamation mark on the driver. if you see the error on the driver then select the driver and right-click and uninstall the driver.

 2. Update the Windows

  1. Press the Windows+I key to open the settings.
  2. Click on Update & Security.
  3. Then check for updates in the Windows update section.
  4. If new updates are available then download and install the updates.
  5. Make sure you have enough data.

3. Uninstall Incompatible drivers using Autoruns

4. Repair the corrupted files

  1. Open cmd via the admin and then just copy and paste it over the command.”dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth” and hit enter.
  2. You need to wait to complete the process it will take a few minutes to finish the scan.
  3. Restart is required once the system is restarted you can check whether your issue is resolved or not.
